Project Kikker.

Part 4.

January 2010.

The new Headliner has been finished. Just as soon as the paint has dried it will be installed.

Since the old style decals are not available I modified a newer style DAF one to fit the air cleaner lid.

A friend Rokko (Richardo) Miranda helping out with some body work in March.
The roof has a lot of "wave" issues which need some work, as you can see.

Skim coat is going on the roof. The Driver's side is the worst for some reason.

Roof has been skimmed and block sanded...it's ready for the Epoxy Primer/Sealer.

Left rear Quarter panel preceived it's skim coat today and is ready for blocking.

Left Quarter panel just about ready for Primer.

Skim coat applied to the rear section. This will be easy, hardly any dents here.

Sanded smooth and ready for primer. Three sections now completed.

Passenger side rear quarter panel nearly ready for Epoxy as you can see there are still a few low spots (black areas) needing attention.

This now completes the skim coat on the Passenger side.

Skim coat almost complete on left front fender...just a few more issues here.

The Driver's side door. A few small repairs are needed here before a skim coat can applied.

Repairs are made and a skim coat is on.

Driver's door is completed and ready for paint.

Passenger door getting the same treatment now.

KIKKER being loaded and heading for the Paint Shop.

It's official! KIKKER is at the paint shop. She should be all in "Oliva" within a week.

Top, most of Driver's side and one door have been block sanded and a layer of Epoxy primer sprayed on.

Some final skim going on and rocker panels have been sprayed with Stone Guard.

What's this? Do I see Green? The interior has it's first coat of Oliva Green.

Inside looks great. Just the trunk area still needs to be sprayed.

Inside front Dash area looks amazing now.

Oliva Green starting to show up everywhere! This is great...finally making some serious progress.

Kikker is really ready now to get full color.

Both Doors are done. One more quick buffing to make the paint shine and they are 100%.

On the 16th of June Kikker became Green again for the first time in almost 20 years.

Passenger side.

The back side.

Kikker loaded up and ready to head home on June 18th.

Safe and Sound. Back at DAF Central-USA.

I used the new Isuzu Transport Truck to bring her home.

More about the restoration of Kikker will follow later.
